LGiU and CITB, the Sector Skills Council and Industry Training Board for the construction sector, hosted a national series of construction summits in ten different LEP (Local Enterprise Partnerships) regions across the country throughout 2014. The summits brought together council representatives, local construction firms and training providers to look at the role of the construction industry in the LEPs, to examine how best to support skills and training to deliver local economic growth.
These events were seeking to understand local skills needs and address what suitable solutions might look like and examine the important role local government can play in supporting the construction sector and local skills needs.

Coast to Capital (in Brighton): 26 June
Coventry and Warwickshire (in Coventry): 14 July
Solent (in Southampton): 16 October
South East (in Chelmsford): 22 October
New Anglia (in Norwich): 21 November
Northamptonshire: 10 December
