The LGiU in cooperation with Westminster City Council today launched a report entitled Room to Move. This report argues that local authorities should be empowered to offer flexible tenancies to new social housing residents. The report gained wide media coverage including a comment piece in The Guardian, a piece on BBC Online and one on ConservativeHome.

The event was very successful and the audience raised some serious issues which we’ll be coming back to in the coming months. The event included an address by Philippa Roe of Westminster City Council and Richard Blakeway, the Mayor of London’s Director of Housing among others. Attendees included Cllr Stephen Greenhalgh, Leader, LB Hammersmith and Fulham and Cllr Colin Barrow, Leader Westminster City Council.
