We are extending the nominations deadline for the 2015 C’llr Achievement Awards. You now have until 30th January 2015 to submit nominations for all ten of our exciting awards categories.

One such award is the all-new Innovation Achievement of the Year Award. Innovation has always been an important quality in our local government representatives. In recent years, though, innovation has become increasingly important. Councillors are tasked with supporting citizens in a climate of serious resource and funding constraints. Maintaining a quality service, therefore, requires an innovative approach.

Councillors across the country have been leading the way in dealing with the pressure of providing more with less, and also in encouraging greater community engagement. Elected members champion new and creative approaches, build new relationships, and find ways to reduce demand rather than salami slicing services.

The Innovation Achievement of the Year Award recognises those outstanding councillors who have:

  • Pioneered innovation in public services, commissioning, or citizen engagement
  • Championed new approaches and ways of working within the council
  • Demonstrated a willingness to take risks and test new ideas

If you know a councillor whose commitment and drive deserve recognition, then nominate them for this year’s awards!
