Exploring what the localism legislation means for councils, the conference looks at the context for the policy reform and the ensuing challenges and opportunities that face councils, including General Power of Competence, LGRR (including business rates) and the Core Cities amendment.
Detailed sessions will focus on planning – including neighbourhood planning, community forums, and sub-regional collaboration – as well as community rights and the implications for local authorities in strategic planning and service delivery.
The conference will include Q&A opportunities and an opportunity to meet the Minister.
