On 5 May 2022, voters will go to the polls to elect over 6,000 local representatives. In total, 147 councils in England, all 32 councils in Scotland and all 22 councils in Wales are holding elections. 6 directly elected council mayors in England are also up for election – as well as one metropolitan mayor.
