Everyone at LGiU was saddened to learn of the death of Cllr Bob Wheeler of South Derbyshire. Bob had been a member of the LGiU Executive Board since 2010. He brought a wealth of insight both from his political experience and from his long career in industry and he was a key figure in the development of the organisation over those years and a great support to both the Chief Executive and Chair. Bob was a staunch advocate for local government and a robust voice in support of local decision making. Good humoured as well as authoritative, he will be sadly missed by us all. Our thoughts are with Heather and their daughter at this sad time.
