The LGiU is pleased to announce that Dr Jonathan Carr-West has been appointed as the new Chief Executive.

Dr Carr-West has been Director of Policy at LGiU and previously worked as Director in the LGiU’s Centre for Local Democracy. Prior to this, he worked as Deputy Programme Director at the RSA.

Chair of the LGiU Board, Cllr Dave Wilcox commented:

“We are delighted to welcome Dr Jonathan Carr-West as Chief Executive of LGiU. We had an outstanding range of candidates, but Jonathan emerged as the best candidate.”

“We feel that Jonathan has the vision to lead an organisation which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary of supporting councils through its membership offer and its charitable mission to promote local democracy.”

“I congratulate Jonathan and look forward to a great period of creativity at the LGiU in its continued mission to support innovation in local government.”
