Kings Speech 2023 – key points for local government

King Charles III delivered his first King’s speech since his coronation in May of this year and the first “King’s Speech” in over 70 years. The speech outlined the UK government’s legislative agenda for the coming session. The speech announced 21 bills that are intended to be introduced over the next year.

Lord Chancellor, Alex Chalk MP, hands the speech to the King.
