We are looking for additional associates to write occasional briefings for us on a variety of subjects including:
- local government finance particularly with an international perspective (comparative local government finance).
- international local government
- data and technology
- reviews of global local government policy thinking and think tank outputs
We are also looking for someone who can help provide regular, but occasional cover for our Australian Daily News service, where knowledge of Australian local government or public policy is distinctly advantageous.
Associates should have an understanding of how local government works and, if relevant, experience of working in local government, locally administered public services or similar. They also need excellent writing skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
LGIU has offices in England, Scotland and Ireland, and delivers a service in Australia with a partnership organisation. We are increasingly working across the four countries. However, for these roles, experience or perspective outside these geographic areas will be particularly advantageous (other than the Australia specific role).
If you have any questions please email Ingrid Koehler, Service Innovation Lead at ingrid.koehler@lgiu.org. We will be happy to provide some sample briefings and further information about the rates paid for briefings.
Writers work for us on a freelance basis as associates.
To apply please send a CV and covering letter before 26 February 2021 to Ingrid Koehler
