Webinar: Social Media to Engage Citizens & Communities: Councillor & Officer Engagement in the Digital Age

Bookmark

Councillors and officers often ask what is social media and how can it be used effectively to engage and inform citizens. This webinar workshop is a basic introduction to social media. It looks at the importance of engaging rather than just promoting and it briefly goes through the tools that both officers and councillors can use.

This basic workshop lasts for 90 minutes and we will look at the importance of engagement and then look at the tools we can use and how.

What will be covered:

  • The importance of Engagement
  • Websites & Blogs
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Youtube Videos
  • Facebook Live & Live Streaming
  • Webinars themselves.

This is a basic introduction and we hope to follow this up with further Webinar Workshops where we go through the tools we can use each in more detail so that you will become familiar with what you can do and how you can use it.

What Is A Webinar Workshop?
A webinar Workshop is a workshop that is held online. The advantage of this is that you can join from your own home or your office and the minimum that you need to join in is a computer (desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone) with either headphones or speakers and a good internet connection.  With just that you can listen to the Online Seminar and join in the discussion and ask questions by text.
