As part of the seminar by the same name – read more here – the LGiU invite you to its publication launch ‘Building Strong Communities’ with author Steve Skinner and others.
Keynote Speech: Cllr Alan Waters, Leader of Norwich City Council and Head of Learning & Development, LGiU
Many councils want to support communities to be more active, provide local services and solve more problems themselves. With growing pressures on public services and increased tensions in communities, there needs to be a wholesale shift from communities as passive consumers of services to a more meaningful level of engagement in their design and delivery.
LGIU’s new exciting publication, ’Building Strong Communities’ can help both officers and Elected Members to build better organised, more resilient communities, working in partnership with the local authority.
