Preventing Homelessness – Issues and Challenges for Councils

Bookmark

In partnership with Social Finance we are hosting a free, half day conference in London on the issues and challenges associated with homelessness prevention.

Date: 2nd May 1030 – 1430

Venue: Trowers & Hamlins LLP, 3 Bunhill Row, London, EC1Y 8YZ

The event is free to attend, and lunch will be provided. However, places are limited. Please get in touch with Andrew Walker to find out if there are places available: andrew.walker@lgiu.org

The aim of the conference is to share knowledge, best practice, questions and ideas about how to deliver improved outcomes and better value for money in their activities to reduce and prevent homelessness.

This is in light of the upcoming Homelessness Reduction Bill, and also DCLG’s recent Homeless Prevention Programme, which provides £50m funding to multiple Local Authorities across three themes:

1. Homelessness Prevention Trailblazers: pilot new initiatives to tackle homelessness
2. Rough Sleeper Grant: targeted support for those at risk/new to sleeping rough
3. Rough Sleeper Social Impact Bonds: targeted interventions for long-term rough sleepers
