Overview

The right support as a councillor can make all the difference. Key outcomes

  • Understand the different roles councillors can prioritise to “make a difference”
  • Learn the different styles councillors can develop and adopt
  • Identify personal targets –maintaining voter interest, embedding achievements, passing on the baton.

Who should attend

For councillors in their first year or so since elections and/or wanting to review their impact – and for member services staff supporting them – to develop councillors’ thinking/plans for how to make a difference.

What others are saying about LGIU training

I learnt a great deal during the session and feel much more confident to apply the new skills I’ve acquired. Thank you for running such an insightful and interactive training. I really enjoyed the time and will be recommending it to my colleagues.
