That’s why we’re helping you consider your role and priorities, including the importance of facilitating community development, fixing resident issues, watching over council decision-making, and acting in your party group to promote your manifesto – to maximise your impact.

- Identify personal targets –maintaining voter interest, embedding achievements, passing on the baton.
Who should attend
For councillors in their first year or so since elections and/or wanting to review their impact – and for member services staff supporting them – to develop councillors’ thinking/plans for how to make a difference.
Your LGIU Trainer
|Dave Burn is an independent consultant with over 35 years of local government experience, specialising in governance, member development, mentoring and member/officer relations and works with a variety of authorities and public bodies. He is the Director of Frontline Consulting Associates Limited, where he leads on support to Police (Fire) and Crime Panels, an Associate for the Local Government Information Unit, SOLACE and the Centre for Governance Public Scrutiny.|
|Cllr Rachel Eden has been an elected member of a Unitary Authority since 2010, having served in a range of roles including the opposition, cabinet member, committee chair and is currently the Mayor. As an experienced trainer, she specialises in finance, management and social media and is a qualified management accountant. Rachel delivers training to individuals and groups ranging from employees of multinational corporations to volunteers at small charities.|
