In the wake of Brexit and Trump, Europe is responding to the need to dramatically improve democracy. Drawing on our international experience of working in democracy at local to supra-national level across Europe, we will provide an overview of the innovations happening all over the continent, exploring citizen participation and democratic governance. What can we learn from them and how could these ideas work in an Irish context?
