In the wake of the news that the University of Glasgow is set to lead a major new UK-wide evidence centre on housing (CaCHE), Policy Scotland and the University’s Urban Studies department are delighted to invite you to an expert-led seminar on the private rented sector.
Coming in the midst of an unanticipated General Election campaign in which housing is sure to be a major issue, this timely seminar promises to be a fascinating event and a great opportunity to hear from expert voices on one of the most challenging areas of public policy today.
The seminar – The challenges of a dynamic private rented sector: evidence and policy in Scotland – will take place on Friday May 12th between 2pm and 4pm in the Yudowitz Room in the University’s Wolfson Medical Building and will hear from leading academic and industry figures on one of the major policy challenges in Scotland and the UK today.
The event will hear from Professor Peter Kemp of the University of Oxford who will examine the new dynamics of private renting and assess radical new legislation being introduced in Scotland, before Professor Kenneth Gibb – who will lead the new housing evidence centre – chairs a discussion with Rosemary Brotchie of Shelter, the consultant Anna Evans and Susan Aktemel of Homes for Good.
