External event: Agroecology: What can we learn from other European countries?

Bookmark

Join Scottish Natural Heritage at a morning seminar to learn how agroecology has been promoted in other European countries, in particular France, and discuss whether ideas can be transferred to the UK and Scotland.

Scottish Natural Heritage, with the Land Use Policy Group, asked the Institute for European Environmental Policy to examine the high-level factors that enable or hinder the adoption of agroecology, drawing on the experiences from France as well as Germany.

The review (which will be published) provides information on drivers underpinning decision-making within these countries and the mechanisms they have introduced to promote agroecological approaches. It will also provide information on how these initiatives were received and discuss their potential relevance in the UK.

There will be the chance to hear the views from Eric Giry (French Embassy), Prof Christine Watson (SRUC), Andrew Bauer (NFUS) and Vicki Swales (RSPB). There will opportunities for questions and answers.
