The Improvement Service is offering a series of free workshops to support locally elected members to develop their skills and enhance their knowledge. Local government, and public services in Scotland, are facing challenges that will require the utmost skill and dedication from elected members to successfully navigate. These workshops will support elected members to develop their knowledge and skills to effectively carry out the complex roles and responsibilities expected of them.
The workshops are held on a cross-council, cross-party basis at venues across Scotland and spaces will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. Each workshop will be highly discursive and interactive, with elected members playing a full and active role.
If you have any questions about the programme, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Co-facilitated between the Improvement Service and the Scottish Community Development Centre (SCDC), this workshop will explore why Community Participation is so important, showcase good practice and look at the role of elected members in ensuring Community Participation is key to local decision making.
