On 31st March 2017, Social Work Scotland held a national event to ask ‘What is Adult Social Care?’ The answer came back ‘vital to society and hugely undervalued’.

To respond to this challenge, Social Work relaunched its Adult Social Care Committee to build on the momentum and vision that emerged from the event.

The Adult Social Care Committee comprises of senior leaders from across the sector to discuss issues and challenges facing adult social care, to ensure that there is a distinct social work response to legislation and government from leaders in the profession, to debate current issues and to create new initiatives for the sector. For the work of the committee to be truly effective it is important that there is representation from all areas of Scotland and across sectors.

The Committee is supported by a number of vibrant practice networks and sub committees around specific fields of interest.

Chair of the committee, and Director of Adult Social Care in Highland, will speak to the work of the committee, its vision and how you can be involved in shaping the future of adult social care. Other local speakers will be confirmed. Come along and get involved. Lunch or light refreshments will be provided.
