Community-Led Development in Ireland: Insights from the LDCN Summit 2025

Ireland’s Local Development Companies promote community-led local development, working collaboratively with civil society and government, including local authorities. They deliver a wide range of social inclusion, rural development, and economic programmes. The October 2025 Local Development Company Network (LDCN) summit highlighted their distinctive bottom-up approach, their application of community development principles and their innovative capacity. This paper provides an overview of the summit’s deliberations.
