There’s still time to nominate outstanding councillors for the 2014 LGiU and CCLA C’llr Achievement Awards! Due to popular demand we have extended the deadline until 5pm on Friday 17th January.
Councillors play a vital role in making communities thrive, but they are not always fully appreciated. If you know a councillor who always goes that extra mile and shows absolute dedication to their communities, then why not give them the recognition they deserve and nominate them for the C’llr Awards?
There are 11 categories in this year’s awards, including:
- The Age UK Award
- Community Champion
- Leader of the Year
- Digital Innovator Award
- Young C’llr of the Year
- Sustainability Champion
The Age UK Award will recognise the contribution of councillors who champion the interests and concerns of older people. Morgan Vine, of Age UK, discusses here the important contribution made by these councillors.
A £10,000 bursary is also on offer for the winner of the Bruce-Lockhart Member Scholarship. This award is supported by Kent, Essex and East Sussex Councils and goes to a councillor who demonstrates excellent leadership potential. Previous winner, Joe Caluori, used his scholarship to research different approaches to austerity among local authorities.
Make sure you take this opportunity to show your appreciation and nominate a councillor today! Nominations are quick and simple to submit, and remember: The deadline is now 5pm on Friday 17th January!
