Summary

Improving and equalising wellbeing is one of the fundamental missions of the UK Government’s levelling up agenda, but new research from the Social Market Foundation finds many economically prosperous places have low levels of wellbeing, whilst economically challenged places report higher wellbeing. This paradox has implications for policy making.
