This briefing reviews the current and future direction of the Olympic and Paralympic legacy, from three key publications: the Government’s second annual report on the Olympic legacy, Inspired by 2012: The legacy from the Olympic Paralympic Games; Public Health England’s draft framework to tackle physical inactivity, Everybody Active, Every Day; and the Culture, Media and Sport Parliamentary Committee’s investigation into Women and Sport.

It is relevant to all local authorities, community organisations, and sport and leisure providers. It will be of particular interest to those members and officers working in social care, children’s services, public health and planning that are concerned about the health and social benefits of physical activity, and to members of health and wellbeing boards.
