The Opportunity Areas programme is sponsored by the UK Department for Education (DfE) for England. The programme aims to help more children and young people to achieve their full potential through targeted funding in 12 areas which are among those which face the greatest challenges to social mobility in England. The funded is targeted at educational provision.
