Housing Review: September 2019

While Brexit may be the main item on the political agenda at the moment, housing issues continue to exercise a strong hold on public attention. The latest Eurobarometer report (March 2019) shows that for Luxembourg (57 per cent) and Ireland (52 per cent) housing tops the list of what counts as the most important issue facing the country at the moment. We can expect there to be a lot of activity over the coming months as political parties frame plans for addressing the housing crisis for the election. This month’s housing review covers social housing construction and affordable housing supply, home ownership, homelessness, and the private rental sector.
