The LGIU would like to join its local authority members in offering congratulations to King Charles III, following his Coronation yesterday.
We know how important local places are to His Majesty and up and down the country in villages, towns and cities our communities have been coming together to celebrate the coronation at street parties and other events.
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the local government staff and councillors for facilitating, supporting and joining in with these celebrations. Coming just two days after many councils in England held local elections, this has been a sterling effort.
